This is the third workshop in the KIX EMAP series, organized in partnership with Building Evidence in Education (BE²). It will focus on strengthening skills in qualitative research to improve program design, implementation, and adaptation across the KIX Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Asia and Pacific (EMAP) Hub region.

Participants will:

  • Learn to generate and use qualitative evidence for policy and program decisions
  • Explore the BE² Guidance Note on Qualitative Research
  • Practice applying qualitative approaches to real challenges

Workshop Outline

Day 1: Research questions & study design

  • Crafting policy-relevant qualitative questions
  • Linking questions to decision-making
  • Choosing appropriate methods

Day 2: Analysis & use of evidence

  • Analyzing and interpreting qualitative data
  • Rapid approaches for timely decisions
  • Applying learning to participants’ work

Format: Short presentations, interactive exercises, breakout discussions, and case examples.

The event will be held in English, with simultaneous interpretation to Arabic and Russian.

Eligibility:

  • Limited seats available. The workshop is open to individuals working on education policy, planning, practice or research in one of the EMAP countries for whom the skills addressed in this workshop are relevant for their work
  • Event in English with interpretation in Arabic and Russian
